S J C E - Science Technology Entrepreneurs Park (STEP), Mysore is an Organisation Sponsored by Dept. of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, Dept. of Industries and Commerce, Govt. of Karnataka, Industrial Development Bank of India, Dept. of Industries and Commerce, Govt. of India, Dept. of Science and Technology, Govt. of Kamataka. Primary objective is promoting entrepreneurs in the region.

]SS Mahavidyapeetha, with more than 256 institutions has been striving for the cause of education under the able guidance and blessings of its President His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamigalavaru, who is also the present pontiff of Suttur Math.

SJCE Science & Technology Entrepreneurs Park (STEP) is a premier institution in the Country, established in 1988, in the campus of SJCE, a leading technical institute, with the support of Dept. of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, Industrial Development Bank of India, Dept. of Science & Technology, Govt. of Karnataka, and Dept. of Industries & Commerce, Govt. of Karnataka. It is one of the first 3 STEPs and has been accredited as the BEST STEP among the 14 STEPs established through out the country. Over a period of its existence it has evolved several methodologies to develop entrepreneurs.

Based on its experience, UNESCO had identified STEP as a Nodal centre for organizing seminar on "Entrepreneurial Engineering Design and Product Development Facilities in Technical Institutions" wherein 11 South East Asian countries participated. The Director of SJCE-STEP was identified to be the Adviser for establishing similar initiative of Universitie Technologie Malaysia (UTM), Malaysia.

The STEP is focusing on development of technocrat entrepreneurs by providing managerial and technological inputs. It is recognized by industries as an institution providing human resource development support to industries for their professionals through Continuing Education and Training.

SJCE-STEP has been identified as the base for Indian STEP Association promoting networking amongst all STEPs in India and Science Parks the World over, notably in the UK, the USA, Malaysia and Austria. It is now spearheading the vision of making STEP a movement that would spread in the SAARC countries. An effort that would lead to a multitude of technology based enterprises with high value addition capabilities
